]]>Beamer goes Best In Sweepstakes for a second time!http://www.firstlightsamoyeds.com/journal/2011/8/7/beamer-goes-best-in-sweepstakes-for-a-second-time.htmlTasha2011-08-08T03:17:46Z2011-08-08T03:17:46ZYesterday Beamer was Best in Sweeps at the Minuteman Samoyed Club Supported Entry in Greenfield,MA!!!  Both he and Kira were entered in their last Sweepstakes as they will be over the age limit in a couple of weeks.  Both placed in the regular classes in a very nice entry of 39 Samoyeds.  After showing, the club had its annual picnic, which is always a hit!  All in all it was a fun day filled with good food and friends, and great dogs....

]]>Kira sets paw in the show ring and claims it as 'hers'!!!http://www.firstlightsamoyeds.com/journal/2011/7/9/kira-sets-paw-in-the-show-ring-and-claims-it-as-hers.htmlTasha2011-07-09T20:10:11Z2011-07-09T20:10:11ZWhat an amazing spring we have had with Kira (Kylie's pup from Kiska and Marty's litter last winter)!!!  She is proving to be a natural in the show ring and she really blew our minds at her first weekend out!  Be sure to see her pic on the home page and read the news of her wins posted there!  She had very little training but knew just what to do and when she went Winners Bitch, Best Bred by Exhibitor and then took BBE Working Group First...you could have knocked me over with a feather!!!  That day is one of the most fun at a dog show I've had.  Those are kinds of days that keep you going. 

We are hoping to get back to shows in Aug. - hopefully Miss Kira-boo doesn't decided to blow coat.  I'd hate to miss out on the fun!

I need to take some new pix today...a couple ears are up or almost up!  They grow much too quickly.  Only 2 more weeks and they will be leaving us.  Always a bittersweet time.

Once again I had good intentions of posting a few new pics mid week, but it didn't happen.  They are up now...enjoy!

]]>New digs!http://www.firstlightsamoyeds.com/journal/2010/3/22/new-digs.htmlTasha2010-03-23T03:10:04Z2010-03-23T03:10:04ZGot the puppy pen set up tonight out in the livingroom and the puppies have moved in.  They were a bit unsure at first, but have settled in and are fast asleep.  YAY!  Hopefully this will make Orange and Purple happy for a while at least...those two just don't want to be fenced in! 

4 week pix are up.  They are getting so cute and growing up so fast.  All but 2 are now 4 lbs. or bigger...Orange being the biggest followed closely by Red. 

]]>Week 3...up and walking - and escape!http://www.firstlightsamoyeds.com/journal/2010/3/14/week-3up-and-walking-and-escape.htmlTasha2010-03-15T03:46:57Z2010-03-15T03:46:57ZDuring this 3rd week the puppies have discovered each other as well as their own feet.  Playing has begun...so cute.  I love this age when everything is brand new.  They all have top front teeth - something that I'm not sure that Kiska is thrilled with!  They enjoy sleeping on top of the toys..espcially Pink Elephant, she is a fave.  Oh yes, we have had some escapees - Teal Girl being the first.  Not bad for the littlest.

]]>Two weeks old and on the move.http://www.firstlightsamoyeds.com/journal/2010/3/7/two-weeks-old-and-on-the-move.htmlTasha2010-03-08T02:36:08Z2010-03-08T02:36:08ZTwo week pix have been uploaded to the photo album.  The pups have become pretty mobile in the last day or so.  They are such little porkers...all are over 2 lbs. now except for little Teal Girl.  She is 1 3/4 lbs and gaining steadily. 

A few stuffed toys have been added to the whelping pen, giving them something new to bump into, crawl over, sleep on and smell.
